Thanks to everyone who attended and made the event possible. I hope that everyone had a great time, met a bunch of new people, put faces to poster names and had a lot of good laughs and conversations throughout the day & evening. And it was a real pleasure for me to meet the many new golfers and once again greet the returning ones.
It was a sunny but cool day and the golf course was in great condition. Unfortunately, the round took five and half hours but it was not our group that was slow. The course just simply overbooked.
Team Flysher, the pre tournament favorite won the 5th ROF Golf Classic with a score of 9 under par, breaking the record for lowest score in the event.
Second place was another pre tournament favorite, Team Quincey, shooting an 8 under par score. Then came Team Bankster & Team Strato @ 5 under, Team Donnyparks @ 4 under, Team Glorieux & Team B-Leaf @ 3 under, Team Corndog @ 1 under and Team Trace finished in 9th with Even par.
Longest Strato-Drive for the men was won by Strato…for 5 minutes until Flysher drove it past my only golf shot of the day. So yes, Flysher won that too….. you dog, Flysher, lol. Longest drive for the ladies, only 10 yards shorter than the men, was Mrs. Storm’s terrific drive.
Closest to the Strato-Pin for the men was won by Quincey and Elaine Finlay won for the women.
Most Fairways hit was 12 of 12 by teams Flysher, Bankster & Trace. Most Greens were Teams Flysher & Quincey with 17 of 18. Least putts was Team Donnyparks with 24. The only penalty stroke of the day was by Team Glorieux.
Most Birdies was 9 by Team Flysher. And Team Quincey had the only Eagle of the day. Best front nine score was by Team Flysher with a 30. Best back nine was by Team Quincey with a 32.
Special thanks to Maureen (Irish) who really helped out at the first tee, welcoming the golfers & checking them in. Darren (Trace) and Maureen's husband David also pitched in and made my job much easier, allowing me to get ready for golf. Ya, like that helped, lol.....Speaking of which, my sincere apologies to my team of Paul Semple, Mustangman and my buddy Tino for my imitation of a coyote trying to play golf. It was brutal. I lost 15 golf balls on my own. Ouch. Mustangman got a few pics of the debacle which I will post when I figure out how to do that.
The weirdest thing I saw I guess was that pile of bear poo just off the green on I think it was the 2nd or 3rd hole. As this was our 2nd last last hole, I think the bear was trying to tell me something about my golf game........ part two coming....
