Message: Strato-Summary of 5th ROF Classic - part two

Okay, it was cold in that tent they call their banquet hall. When I saw Peter Marshall wrapped in the tablecloth to keep warm, I knew we had a problem. Before the band was even done, everyone had left for the warmth of their cars & hotel rooms. Didn't expect an 8 degree night in mid sept. when we booked the course, but we got one.

However, I saw a lot of smiling and laughing faces before and during and after dinner, so it looked like everyone enjoyed themselves. That's really what this event is all about - people getting together for some good conversations, some laughs and new friendships. And you can never have enough friends.

The wine tour, organized by Glorieux and hosted by Larry Hoover, was a big success. Everyone had a great time and they were quite jovial...

Now I'm really picky about my roast beef and I must therefore apologize to all the dinner guests because the beef was just not up to the standards we are accustomed to getting at this event. Although the band did say they were happy they were eating, jokingly. The rest of the dinner was excellent.

The reviews of the band are sketchy because of the cold inside the tent. But clearly, some enjoyed them quite a bit. The guys in the band were real nice and they were very accommodating. Also had a special guest, Doug Roy, one of the original backup singers on Elvis tours.

And for those who missed it, the band called me on stage to sing an Elvis song. Hah ! I gave it a shot, lol. That was fun. I think I may have even shook my hips and wiggled my knee. And I shoulda done my ROF song without the band. We hadn't rehearsed it. Something happens every year. It's all part of the show, folks ! Lol.

And lastly, I would like to thank a lot of people who helped out at this event.

Francis Dube (glorieux) and Maureen (irish) specifically were my right and left arms for this event. They did a lot of things to help out. Could not have done this without them.

Larry Hoover promoted the event, hosted the wine tour and just Larry being there, is enough for me. He is so popular and well respected in our investment community.

My wife, Karen, helped immensely with helping me make decisions and also helping with prizes before & after dinner. She’s my rock. And I’m her roll ?Ahem….lol.

Shakey did a great job promoting & recruiting, greeting and generally being a great help for the event.

And special thanks to all who donated prizes or helped get them. This is the toughest task of golf tournaments so the generous donations are very much appreciated. Thank yous to ….. Paul Semple from Noront, Elaine Finlay from Bold, Bruce Hodgman from KWG, Malcome Finlay, Zenyatta Resources, Mr & Mrs Truckulater, Shakey, my wife Karen and anyone else who I may have forgotten.

And lastly, you can tell me by your show of hands if there should be a 6th ROF Classic next year.

Thanks everyone ! Pics coming next....
