I set up my account and when trying to buy Zenith I get a message like,"Opening transactions for this security are not accepted". The nearest Scotiabank is 81 miles from where I am, currently in Maine. Any ideas?

I just put in a buy order at Scotia Itrade.  I didn't try to get a fill but it is "Open" and not rejected so far. (I have enough so cancelled it.)  The message suggests that folks can only place an order if they already have shares in the account?   I would call the trading desk and ask what's up.
