Zenith's BET Inhibitor ZEN-3694 is Currently Being Evaluated in Multiple Oncology Clinical Trials
Not sure what to make of Don's comments on Zen-3694 with respect to tnbc and I agree, why is he even going there with some half baked negative chatter at another company's AGM. Certainly doesn't inspire confidence in the program or him as an alleged leader. Thankfully there are still a lot of positives at Zenith.
On clinical trials.gov the Zen trial is still listed as "recruiting". As far as trodelvy goes it sells $billions but according to drugs.com in the ASCENT trial only about 4% of patients had a complete response and 31% had a partial response. Could there be room for improvement? Don said something to the effect that Zen's ORR was about the same but Zen might be a bit cleaner. There is also the potential that different people will respond better to one drug or another, pethaps similar to statins, leaving plenty of opportunity for more than one product.
Why would any "businessman" leave the competitive arena just because they are second in. How would have that worked out for the 2nd and 3rd statin players! They would have missed out on 10's of $billions in revenues.
I often get the impression that Don only has a very lose handle on what he is talking about regarding the science and his track record (or lack there of) as a businessman speaks for itself. I'll never understand why he doesn't at least share the science side of his presentations with someone who really knows what they are talking about. Information coming from someone who is a real expert is always much more valuable than that from someone who clearly is not. I don't know how much if any work Ewelina Kulikowski does for Zenith but she has been with the program since well before the corporate split, speaks quite well and with her PhD in oncology knows infinitely more about all these epigenetic drugs than Don will ever know. Why not make use of her or someone else with her qualifications? JMO
