Someone have access to contracts?

Where did this information come from?

You all know where I got it from....but where did it originate?

``The DRM issue...

There is a lot of false information and speculation being bantied about regarding e.Digital`s technology and digEcor`s request for an injunction (which is only for the aircraft industry. Here are the facts.

A ``DRM agreement`` was signed by Greg Beeston and RP in November 2005, for e.Digital to develop a new encryption method to be used in their future products.

e.Digital is to:

1. Develop and/or adapt a PC application to encrypt AVI files with source code and deliver to digEcor.

2. Develop and provide firmware programming to support new encryption.

3. Provide detailed programming specification that will enable digEcor to implement the encryption on future digEcor product lines.

4. Provide full support on developing the DRM technology to fully meet or exceed studio requirements for DRM security and support any adjustments requested by studios. e.Digital would not have to support architectural changes studios may request.

5. The parties mutually agree on the encoding tools used to encode video files to AVI format, such as XVID.

digEcor is to:

1. Use its influence with the major studios to obtain studio approval of the DRM technology.

2. Provide video content that reflects what would be used in digEplayers.

3. Provide up to 5 players for testing.

As part of the agreement, digEcor agreed to purchase 2,000 with 1,250 to be delivered immediately, understanding that they would manufactured by Maycom. digEcor and e.Digital would work together to place the remaining order with another contract manufacturer, such as WolfElectronix, at digEcor`s direction. No upfront payments would be required for the 750 units.

digEcor is to pay a $25,000 one-tim flat fee for an unrestricted, unlimited, irrevocable right to use the DRM technology in their products and modify it at their discretion. The aircraft industry is an exclusive license for digecor and all other markets are non-exclusive.

Injuntive relief is clause #10 and both parties agree that the injured party is entitled to injuntion, restraining order or other such equitable relief if any of the terms of the agreement are violated.

e.Digital`s limit of liability for warrantly issues on the DRM technology is $25,000.``

Thoughts to the ....``DRM agreement``new encryption

There is a bit of a difference between DRM and encryption and it seems to be lumped together in the above.

Item 1..encrypt AVI files they are in fact asking for an encryption of AVI files....These files will have associated DRM tied in before a file is encrypted...if following the original DigEplayer recipe.

Item 2...``firmware programming to support new encryption.``

supply the decryptor for the above.

Item 3...Provide detailed programming specification

Did RP sign to give a specification...this would be like giving away the tech....?????

Item 4...``Provide full support on developing the DRM technology to fully meet or exceed studio requirements for DRM security and support any adjustments requested by studios.``

This DRM would be the first layers...that I have stated that e.Digital is capable of...however,DiVx IMO..was supplying...most importantly the specialized bit stream.

All of the above is to have e.Digital deliver them a specification in .AVI to meet their recipe ......``AVI is defined by Microsoft. The .avi file format is the most common format for audio and video data on a computer.``

The hard drive encryption layer will stay the same...and all will be tucked into it.

Has RP signed this?

...Provide detailed programming specification

They could run out and patent this...and I hope e.Digital has that in the works already...as for developing an encryption...I do not see a need for that....for the DRM yes a need.
