Would e.Digital give away .avi as driven on it proprietary technology?

You`re suggesting that MOS would be bundled with this DRM/encryption thing, and I don`t read that into it at all. As you said, it`s a different layer, the two things operate independently. The firmware decription code would ride on top of the MOS layer; the file retrieval/storage for this thing would be managed by MOS, but that is not inherently necessary, some other thing could be managing that layer.
