Revenues Justify Ryanair`s Fleet-wide IFE Installation
Aviation Week & Space Technology

``Michael O`Leary, Ryanair`s CEO, says investment in inflight entertainment (IFE) would be recouped if there was a minimum 3% uptake among passengers over a 12-month period. In the first four weeks of a six-aircraft trial, the average has been 30%, he says.``
``Ryanair set to scrap in-flight entertainment Ian Guider
RYANAIR is considering scrapping its much-hyped in-flight entertainment devices if sales do not pick up soon.
The airline, which launched the hand-held devices last year, said the take-up has been poor so far and it will extend the trials for only another few months.``
``Can`t wait to see what they say next month.``
What ever it is...if it comes from this guy...it wont mean a thing. IMO...He`s not getting a deal for the package....as I see it....
``O`Leary identifies IFE as a potentially lucrative revenue stream for his company. He also recommends that other low-cost carriers introduce IFE.``
He`s trying to turn the others off....If he had been smart...instead of making the recmondiation to the other air lines....he sould have kept his trap shut.
``much-hyped``...it was....Should one who runs a business in the enviornment that he does...as competitive as it is....give the game away ?
All commentary comming out of his trap... was directed at the other carriers....They were not advertisments directed at the general public...in an inconspicious way...for a product offering...allowing for a more comfortable trip.
IMO..it was like he was being a salesmen for ASP...and was trying to get some kind of deal for doing so.
Have any of the other involved air lines made commentary of this nature ?
All an All it has nothing to do with e.Digitals technical ability....so I don`t care what he may or may not say....It`s his business...he`ll run it as he see`s fit.
