Could be part of Brent's evil scheme. Litigate for rights to EDIG's digE IP, then get 'em built by his new buddies at Maycom.

And while I agree that the rights to the IP is the big issue in the litigation, it isn't the big issue in my mind.  To me, the IP issue is just noise that will be stiffled, and the big issues will be whether EDIG gets to keep the payment for Production Oversight, at which they clearly failed, and what penalties will be levied by the court for a much delayed delivery. While there is some room for argument regarding the late delivery (was a date certain specified in the contract?; why did digEcor make final payment - which usually goes hand-in-hand with acceptance of delivery?), that production oversight responsibility (for which EDIG charged a premium) seems to me to be the unescapeable tripping point.
