Apple Inc. (AAPL) and Intel Corp. (INTC) are expanding their relationship beyond the Macintosh computer line.
Intel is now providing the main processing unit for the new Apple TV, a new device Apple unveiled at the annual Macworld show Tuesday.
Apple TV lets consumers wirelessly stream digital content, such as movies, photos and music, from their PC to the TV.
On its Web site, Apple didn't specify the Intel processor it is using, but an Intel spokesman said it's one of the chipmaker's Pentium chips. He didn't elaborate further.
Last year, Apple switched to using Intel chips inside all of its Mac computers.
