Your concerns about EDig still on the hook for lawsuits and or exclusivity rights from BOW are well founded, IF...EDig was still using the SAME DRM that the original DP was made of and sold to BOW. In other words if the Judge saw that the eVu was the same exact product as EDig licensed and granted to BOW.
IT IS NOT....and therein lies the falicy of your reasoning....EDigs eVu was clearly stated by the Judge to be a DIFFERENT product. The RBE constituted an essential part of the DRM in the DP and EDig is NOT USING IT in the eVu, therefore a separate producT.
As someone has pointed out here there are hundreds of products out there that look like the DP, the eVu, the IMS, etc...but whats inside is what makes the difference and what's inside the eVu is very much different than whats inside the DP.
Hope you can come around to what I and a number of others read in the judges ruling and not take Casssandddras side in this
