American Technology Unveils New LRAD(R) Products at West Coast's Largest Military Technology Expo
Tuesday January 30, 8:30 am ET
|
In addition to exhibiting the Company's flagship LRAD 1000(TM) and 500(TM) products, ATC is scheduled to unveil its new handheld LRAD 100(TM) as well as a portable version of LRAD 1000, and ATC's own version of a remotely operated LRAD system at AFCEA West 2007.
LRAD 100(TM)
ATC has harnessed the power of LRAD in a lightweight, handheld device. In the LRAD 100, ATC is utilizing its new advanced higher output STINGER(TM) transducer technology, which achieves even greater output for a given surface area than previous LRAD technology. The STINGER transducers are applied in a specialized, multi-structural, phased array to maximize the high intensity column of sound that is generated by the handheld device. These high-powered arrays are very efficient using comparatively little electrical power. LRAD 100 is being targeted for military, paramilitary, public safety and security use.
LRAD-R(TM)
LRAD-R is ATC's own directed acoustic hailing and deterrent system, which can be remotely operated across an IP Network. LRAD-R consists of an LRAD emitter head, pan/tilt system for precise audio targeting, integrated devices (cameras, infrared sensors, illuminators and other detection/deterrent devices) and an easy to use software control interface. The vision and positioning system allows users to locate, communicate with, and deter specific potential threats at extended distances. The software control interface gives the operator the ability to program movement commands for automated scanning, assess real time video feed from the integrated camera, and select and playback pre-recorded warning messages or aversion sounds through the LRAD device or a networked configuration of an unlimited number of LRADs. LRAD-R has been specifically developed for use in a variety of harsh military and commercial applications including perimeter and border protection, maritime, oil and gas (platform and pipeline protection), large utility and chemical plant infrastructures, critical government and military structures and assets, and other applications where low maintenance, trouble-free operation is a must.
SCRAM CART
The SCRAM Cart is a portable platform specifically designed for use with the directed acoustic hailing, warning, and notification system, LRAD 1000. The mobile configuration increases the effectiveness of the LRAD by enabling rapid deployment, transportation and storage by a single operator. The ruggedized, weatherproof system includes a self-contained battery pack that provides up to 6 hours of continuous operation at full power, thereby eliminating the need for power outlets and extension cords. Whether used in maritime, platform or land-based applications, this portable unit enhances the efficiency of the LRAD system through rapid, trouble-free operation and deployment.
SoundBarrier(TM)
Utilizing LRAD technology, ATC has created a new system to safely and effectively ward off threats to occupants of most any vehicle. At the flip of a switch, the driver or anyone in the vehicle, can activate an extremely intense sonic field that envelops the exterior of the automobile, leaving passengers in the vehicle protected and unaffected. By generating American Technology's proprietary HyperTones(TM), a unique harmonic structure that at high intensity is intolerable to humans or animals, the sonic field repels anyone up to 10 meters away by creating an 'auditory denial zone.' Additionally, SoundBarrier can be directed to the sides or to the front and back of the vehicle. SoundBarrier can be mounted on the undercarriage of most any vehicle - out of sight and environmentally protected to withstand severe exposure to the elements. SoundBarrier is being targeted for use in hardened vehicles of high-profile individuals as well as for military and government use.
"We are seeing an increasing demand for LRAD products and systems, both here and abroad," said Tom Brown, president and CEO of ATC. "We are responding to this demand by growing our LRAD suite of products, developing more powerful, proprietary LRAD technology, and increasing our direct sales force to better service the substantial military, public safety and commercial business opportunities we are experiencing."
