"Correct me if I am wrong, but for purposes of current IP monetization efforts it doesn't really matter what OS is able to do with EPAC or another codec does it?"

IMO...it does....e.Digital has an ability to orchestrate at the bit stream level at encoding....for camera effects or other specialized bit streams. They have the ability to implement any codec, utilizing their proprietary scheme for different arrangements. It can be stand alone under .nfs, or modified to run the attributes of any OS. They make that happen without the need of specialized hardware for translation....or transcoding.

"Does anyone know if the MSFT lawsuit has any implications for e.Digital? I can't see that there are any. e.Digital was just involved in taking the "finished product" of the lawsuit and putting it into a product application, right?"

IMO.....the argument should just be over the codec, however, lots of things have changed since the .avi basket file format of MSFT. It could be over an integration process as well as the codec.

DigEcor was after a .avi platform...what for, is anyones guess....

My guess, they were hoping for an easy, yet powerful, integration platform to MFST developments....for numerous to be agreed codecs.

25k..??
