InterVideo invites 3GSM World Congress attendees to a demonstration of the latest in multimedia technologies running on advanced digital signal processors and incorporated with several handheld devices. According to IDC, there is a significant increase of worldwide camera phone shipments expected, reaching 770 million units by 2008 and a 30.7 percent compound annual growth rate over the next five years. In 2004, worldwide camera phone shipments have surpassed digital camera and camcorder shipments combined. Especially in Asia and Europe markets, consumers who have never owned a personal computer or a digital camera are beginning to use camera phones to capture special moments. Cute Mobile, an innovative mobile phone design company based in Taiwan, has incorporated InterVideo’s advanced codecs with their xcute cell phone in order to provide consumers the ability to record real time 30 fps (frames-per-second) video clips on its high-resolution camera phones with digital camera-compatible image quality. Cute Mobile’s xcute DV1 has a 3-megapixel camera with 4x optical zoom and TV-out capability that enables users to play DVD-quality video on the phone with output to an external television display.

InterVideo’s unique video stabilization algorithm allows consumers to record excellent jitter-free video clips with ease. As cell phones become smaller and smaller, this feature is highly appreciated by consumers. In addition, InterVideo will demonstrate its H.264 video codec as a solution to receive streaming digital media broadcasting (DMB) contents on mobile phones. While current DMB solutions are tailored to carrier-specific requirements at 15fps in the Japan market, InterVideo’s H.264 solution aims at providing a real time frame rate, 30 fps, to DMB-ready handsets for ODMs, system integrators and carriers worldwide.
