I'm about an hour north of N Conway in one of the smallest towns in NH with 325 residents and about as many bears. My view of the mts this morning is absolutely spectacular. It's been snowing since Sunday and overall there's been about 20 - 24 " here and probably 3' on the peaks. Most of the rocks are covered as the snow is very heavy even above tree line.

The link to the Mt Washington Observatory Web cam is currently inoperable because of the weather but should be fixed shortly.

The trend for the next few days is clearing and warmer. Time to come out of hibernation.

You asked why do I live here. 31 years ago it seemed like a good idea. I cleared my land and built a homestead and gardens. I was inspired by a book written by Helen and Scott Nearing called "Living the good life". Their example was a template for what my wife and I have accomplished. April is a cruel month here, espicially to gardeners. Hardly an April passes without an explitive word to the weather!
