Old news for some ( a whole month) but Mezzo's business model appears to be clicking as this weekend's latest revelations indicate continued growth for their product offering....hence Flyglobespan's tripling their order last month and now three new customers, TUI Group charter carriers Arkefly of the Netherlands, Jetairfly (Belgium) and Thomsonfly (UK) enter the picture.

MEZZO and Flyglobespan to TRIPLE Portable IFE operations ...

MEZZO, the Rolls-Royce plc backed Portable IFE Specialist, announced that UK low cost airline partner Flyglobespan is tripling the number of MEZZO players it provides to passengers on its short and long haul aircraft. 

The ramping up of routes, which will make MEZZO Portable IFE available on the majority of Flyglobespan routes will be completed by mid July 2007.  MEZZO services will be extended beyond Economy to include Premium Economy and Premium Class cabins on aircraft operating throughout Europe, Canada and USA.

“This is a significant validation of our work to date with Flyglobespan,” comments MEZZO Executive Director Martin Cunnison, “We have shown that our RETAIL IFE model can be integrated very successfully into a low cost airline to differentiate its onboard offer from the competition and retain its low cost credentials.  A MEZZO service makes a strong positive contribution to the airline’s business model which is clearly reflected in the decision to extend the number of MEZZO players, routes and availability across all cabins at Flyglobespan.”
