yep, the Eastern District of TX, a.k.a. The Rocket Docket, is the place to be for EDIG's sake, IMO.

As some here know, I've been there and done that in that venue. It is interesting and the Houston legal firms and branch offices of major national firms have an abundance of talent. The cases do get a relatively quick review and the "request" to settle is made is the strongest possible terms.

In my case, we settled very quickly to avoid the expense. Remember, the expense to go to trail is HUGE not only in cash, but also in terms of time spent by key management people and staff to prepare. Even the major league brands will try to avoid a court room as it always looks bad to their large shareholders, right or wrong. DM, IMO, will work hard to not embarass (no PRs) any mean ole copy cat as they don't want the court room drama, either.
