Other thoughts that come to mind as "my little grey cells"

activate........I asked if other products are in works in the back room. What about the other areas EDig has been interested in....Medical, Cruise lines etc....
He said there are no new products being actively developed but some are in the concept stage in the back closet to be brought out when EDig is fully established in the IFE arena and have the funds to do so.
He said the MOS was unique and had many uses that could be used for a variety of things. A little tweak here a little tweak there and you have an entirely new use for the same product.
That is why he feels the recent supreme court KSR decision will actually HELP with the IP infringement lawsuits for a number of reasons. Firstly it most likely will clear the air of patent lawsuits from borderline patent holders, those who fail the test of "obviousness".... I.E. taking one widely known product already in use and joining it with another of the same ilk, coming up with a new product that is then patented. If the inevitability of those products being joined then the supreme court will throw out the patent claim.
However Justice Roberts stated (paraphrase) that if a need exists in a particular area and no obvious joining or melding of existing products is available then if someone creates something that didn't exist before to join those products. then that is patentable.
I don't think I explained that too well but it boils down to EDig having a very unique product, not in existance prior to its invention and a joining of other products to produce something else, in other words SOMETHING BRAND NEW.
Boy am I out of my league on this one....
In any case DM and EDig feel they are on very solid ground regarding the patents.
EDig is solely concentrating on the eVu and IFE business right now. I asked about medical, no answer, about car rentals and cruise lines.
While EDig is not going after that business right now but stated that cruise lines were in the mix, were VERY interested in the eVu. What the holdup is the development of the "TRANS-FLEX" (I am not sure I got the name right on that. Perhaps a Doni or some one could help me out) screen. This is a screen that is usable in sunlight. It exists now but the price of it has not come down significantly to make it practible. The car rental companies have also expressed a concern about the same problem and could be interested if that problem is resolved.
RP said the makers of that screen are now delivering it to customers and thinks as more deliveries are made the price will come down. I get the feeling if that were to happen we WILL be there also.
Enough.....I have overstayed my welcome. Will wait like all of us for the next blurb......
