It will end up being a stand alone coprocessor platform...
just like Broadcoms...and (MSI)NVIDA....both of which are every day variety with out security....they are nothing more than PC expansion cards...that they now put on a single chip.
The security will make their(edig) platform important...as it will be capable of running all the codecs...blending them with the security...for both encoding/encrypting and decrypting/decoding of a bit stream.
IMO...some how the platform has to be really close to the display...if not in the display...before the decrypt/decode
