Relatively small company, small budget, crushing legal defense costs.

It would not surprise me to see an appropriately small settlement ($1M or less) out of this, PDQ.  While not a lot of money, it would be proportionate to the probable degree of infringement (product sold) - in other words it wouldn't necessarily send a message to other, bigger infringers that they can get off cheap.  Meanwhile, even just EDIG's cut of that much money would be significant to EDIG.
