II have no idea, I'm just noting that the industry at large, is flowing in e.Digitals direction.
IMO...it's e.Digitals patents that are turning the tide. NAND anatomy is serial or linear..... Nor's anatomy is cross point(row and column) for data segment lookup.
Nor's anatomy deals with large sector(erase block) size.....that is attributed to the cross point anatomy. You need large blocks for any sizable data management. To improve density you have to contend with this problem.
For NAND you do not.....for that reason it will lead.
While companies such as Sandisk created abstract to tie NAND and typical PC OS's together.....e.Digital went beyond just a conversation abstract layer.
They devised a system with OS, that took direct approach to the problem of NAND that everyone kept avoiding....it's linear anatomy.
For the most part, the only type of data segment arrangement that could be utilized on it was contiguous segment, which is limited to devising any real utility.
e.Digital opened the door by creating a system that could work within the serial environment with noncontiguous segment structure, bringing robust utility to the system.
You tell me what it means or where it goes....
