From November 2007 Lufthansa will be equipping Economy Class on its long-haul fleet with in-seat screens. As a result you will now also have access in Economy Class to our extensive on board entertainment programme via your own screen. With the Entertainment on Demand function you will have a choice of the latest cinema blockbusters in up to eight languages, a range of music from around the world and service information, all of which you can start, stop or repeat whenever you want.
Your opinion is important to us
In mid-August we are starting a comprehensive on board testing period in order to ensure that the system is as user-friendly as possible. To this end two aircraft will be fitted with the screens before they are introduced throughout the fleet. Between 15 August and 12 September intensive consultation will be taking place on board for two weeks at a time on the Detroit, Houston and Toronto routes.
As part of the process, passengers will have a choice of two control concepts:
As a special feature the navigation menu is shown in nine languages (German, English, French, Italian, Spanish, Portuguese, Japanese, Korean and Chinese).
The on board customer consultation will be taken into account in the final evaluation and will be a decisive factor in choosing the control concept.
The first aircraft with the new Entertainment on Demand system will begin operating as early as November 2007. And by April 2008 around 40% of the entire Lufthansa long-haul fleet will have been converted.
This system will further enhance the quality of Lufthansa Economy Class and you can look forward to an even more entertaining and varied time on board.
