You are right. The limitations for eVU to compete in the consumer market is not technological. It can indeed be downsized to an I-pod shuffle...

The fact remains that eVU, and digE from which it evolved, were indeed designed for the specific Airline and Leisure markets. No one wants to look at a 3 inch screen while cooped up in an airplane for 11 hours on a trip to China...

EDIG has never been faced with a problem of not being able to adapt its Tech. to any specific market demand. Their main problem has been that their "Business Plan" has always been to be helpful to the needs of OEMS operating in a specific consumer market...

If you recall, many of the digEcor "Customers", like AMTRAC and some of the Airlines came to EDIG and were referred to WENCOR, the then OEM doing business with EDIG. EDIG has always, (with exception of a short period they ventured in consumer product field), planned to be the purveyors of Technology which made possible the production of widgets using FLASH to transmit all sorts of digital data...

In a round about way, they have continued in helping to create an ever expanding FLASH MARKET, and now they are trying to get their "fare share" through litigation. If they are successful at this last step, then there is hope they may still be able to work out deals with some OEMS who will ask EDIG to help with production of product they wish to sell, giving EDIG a fare share of the income al la QUALCOM...

At this stage of the game I agree with LL that EDIG simply can not, and will not pursue the consumer Markets...
