e.Digital eVU handhelds for Air France A319s

September 13, 2007 – CALIFORNIAN handheld IFE provider e.Digital has supplied a quantity of its eVU players to Air France, which has been using them since midsummer in business class on its Airbus A319 services to destinations in Africa and the Middle East.

The agreement with Air France also covers support equipment and services. “Air France selected eVU after a two-month competitive trial alongside other IFE products,” comments e.Digital president Will Blakeley.

e.Digital says eVU is capable of 14 hours of continuous video playback from a single battery charge. It combines a choice of 7in or 8in LCD screens with 40-200Gb of storage.

e.Digital has also supplied eVU to Alitalia, Lufthansa and Malaysia Airlines, as well as providing the hardware component of the turnkey IFE service that London-based Mezzo currently delivers to TUI Group charter carriers Arkefly of the Netherlands, Jetairfly (Belgium) and Thomsonfly (UK), British low-cost carriers Flyglobespan and Jet2.com, charter operator XL Airways and transatlantic premium-only specialist Silverjet.
