As I pointed out before, (last month about certification) you just can't take a system, put it in a (commercial) aircraft, and expect it to be safe.

EDIG has a major hurdle cleared in the approval process in the fact that the system is in use today on a flag carrier (Air France). It would not be on Air France without its government approval. Many of the certification requirements are controlled by the ICAO (International Civil Aviation Organization) that sets to provide a worldwide standard for civil aircraft certification, operating rules, etc. The regulations they standardize are used by nearly all of the international airlines... and as any EU and US airlines are included in their country's enrollment in the ICAO. When Air France gets approval from its DGAC (France's version of our FAA) you can bet that the DGAC approval... as they are a member of the ICAO.. as well as the FAA (the US being a member of the ICAO as well... will go a long way to getting FAA approval for EDIG's products to be installed now and in the future.
