I agree with jefother in concept and I agree with you that proactive actions by management are viewed by the market differently than some numerical equation for the responding pps.
If the market anticipates that management is fully committed to growth and profits the stock can and will trade on expected earnings growth.
If they recieve a $25 million settlement in their first patent case it is fair to assume the market will anticipate more settlements of similar magnitude and the market will adjust accordingly based on the results from the first case.
