You`ve apparently never depended on nighttime AM radio for entertainment. I used to pick up stations all over the country and some I could count on night after night, particularly in the wintertime, one of them being WWL. During the Bay of Pigs fiasco the Voice of America took over WCKY in Cincinnati to broadcast information to Cuba. WCKY carried country music at the time and apparently it was popular in Cuba, go figure. But suddenly when all the hillbillys (and that includes me) tried to tune in the WCKY Jamboree they got Spanish talk and music. Apparently a lot of folks still try to get AM dx as this website lists the best stations to listen for in order to copy all 50 states. http://www.ac6v.com/clearam.htm
