What is hype and what is reality is in the eyes of the beholder. "IF", as you put, "it all came true", then it would have been realty, NOT?

EDIG tried to do it the right way, by licensing its tech a la Qualcom to those who wanted to participate in developing the DIGITAL DATA TRANSMISSION ERA.

Unfortunately, the Tech bust of 2000 scattered those who came together to usher the period.

It has taken 8 years for what was demonstrated in the 2000 CES to get going. The law requiring HI-DEF TV, which is digital data, became effective a short while ago. And the FLASH market which is expanding at a fast clip, is bringing home all those 174+ infringiners that have been identified. All DM has to do is to bring their money "home" to EDIG. And there shall be money coming in.

It is no hype to say that if DM did not see dollars in this case, they would not commit to represnting EDIG, fronting the costs and looking to getting paid on a contingency basis. They did not grow to be what they are by working for free. You can bet your last dollar that they had many Board meetings at the SENIOR,SENIOR level of the law firm before they signed on the dotted line to be EDIG attorneys.
