A patent infringement suit by a three-person company against Apple Inc. will go forward, a U.S. District Judge has ruled.
Santa Rosa-based Burst.com Inc., a company that lost $533,000 last year, claims its founder invented some of the technologies used by iPod.
The company wants millions of dollars in royalties from Cupertino-based Apple (NASDAQ:AAPL).
Apple tried to get parts of four patents invalidated, but Judge Marilyn Patel upheld some elements of Burst.com patents that deal with receiving, storing and transmitting video and audio files.
