"So, I'm not sure EDIG has the ability to leverage this tech because I believe the micro OS has to be apart of a portable device for this type of battery performance,"

 They do...It does....

Power consumption 20hrs continuous play...with regard to in house applications executed from serial flash, for now, linear file creation(write) and Playback(read). Such as audio and video(multi media) through their cashing schemes. IMO, could be an expansion card allowing higher level OS attributes or proprietary device(eVu). IMO, would induce infringement of microcontroller caching scheme/discrete bit stream/encrypt/decrypt/file creation under varying codec attributes.

Portability...with regard to storage ability within a serial flash environment. Controller(cashing scheme/file structure) allowing the storage of any type file created under the attributes of higher level OS/Applications. The benefit...no virtual overhead management needed(power savings)....greatly reduced RAM footprint(power saving). A simplified process allowing portability to varying types of higher level OS's would induce infringement for general computing. Could be implemented at varying Flash constructs..flash cards...hybrid drives...solid state drives.....anything needing portability to serial flash and not necessarily needing power savings.

The target...small devices needing the power savings derived by all of the above,  however,  there's a simplified portability issue for standard power devices.
