His point is, that the industry is coming to some cataclysmic collision of IP and user products, because of 100's of patents involved for a device.
I don't put into his thoughts.
There are a lot of advancements in IP, however, IMO, many of them are based on tech lineage that are passé.
There's a resurgence of serial techniques happening that change a lot of what use to be in a device.
In e.Digitals case, they shrink his thoughts. If it weren't for companies like e.Digital, pushing the envelope, companies like Palm would still be selling you battery backed RAM.
