That was in response to DM getting involved with EDIG on contingency fee basis, right?...
Announcement of an embedded IFE deployment coupled with some hard numbers on the bottom line showing growing revenues may just have similar effect...
And that is where Mezzo comes in...
As some of you mat recall, the fellows who started Mezzo came from a successful grocery market, (sort of like Safeway), enterprise. What they sold to Rolls Royce, to get their financial backing and the prestige of their name, was a plan to create a "TURN KEY" no hassle IFE marketing operation taylored to the needs of each "Customer"...
If a customer was small and strapped for cash, they wouls provide the IFE on a lease, or shared revenue basis. If the cumstomer could write a check for 5-10 million, they would provide the embedded systme, and service it. The best of their plan was the flexiblity of their plans; they would do whatever worked for the customer...
These guys spent months "Testing" various harware available on the market before selecting eVU as their choice. There is no way they are to using another Hardware for their announce embedded system. It goes to the Heart of their PLAN of operation.
Nor do I see them as BOW, full of avarice and cunning, embarking on destruction of relations with EDIG because some one else came up with a hardware that does the job cheaper...
This is also comports with EDIG's Business Plan to staty away from details of manufactturing, production, and marketing hardware. Any time they did this it was a failure...
Thus, I conclude that Larry is right. Edig would prefer to be the QULACOM, supplying the Tech, and tweeking it to meet the needs of any OEM, or "Cumtomer" like Mezzo, to meet their needs. Keeping their options open to work deals with Major "Customers" Like AIRBUS, BOEING, AMTRAK, who want a system designed for them...
This was the arrangement with BOW originally. Remember, EDIG sent AMTRAK to BOW...
