This market can be huge and these guys know what they are doing. They test well and they understand their customer.
As an example, in some states that allow wine sales in convenience stores (Note to Nashville lurkers: Yes, it actually happens, just not in God`s country), 7-Eleven tested 4` and 8` displays with small footprints and immediately became a significant seller of not-so-cheap bad wine in the test markets -- even with a very limited selection. The reason is simple -- convenience. They are the anti-Wal Mart with strong consumer loyalty for convenience items and a big time distribution network.
If they get behind a downloading service partner or do it themselves, they have a chance to put a large dent in the Netflix and Blockbuster models for movie rentals / sales.
Hmmm.....wait two days for Netflix, deal with the poor service and shortages of Blackbuster, or run to the corner and spend two minutes downloading whatever movie I want at whatever time I want it. IMO, not a bad plan.
Somebody will make the pPVP for rentals or purchase. In the near future, those pPPV will get cheap, then get cheap cheap as secure content becomes more and more available, IMO. Somebody will have to supply a secure platform as well.
I wonder if 7-Eleven will have Debbie Did Dallas A Long Time Ago????

OT -- They also tested cheap guitar sales. Not bad.
