It's been around for a while.

A component some what like resistor, only it's a variable locking a digital state with variable resistance levels when current is applied....memory resistor... low resistance "0" high resistance "1".

I have expressed my thoughts in the past....it does not matter to edig what the mechanics are of the memory. Variable resistors, crystalline, metal oxide, magnetic.....etc

Does not matter...we're involved with dictating the mechanics which can be anything.
