I'm not sure that a victory is necessarily forthcoming, but you have a point in regards to the PR motive and timing.

They didn't issue this just for the shareholders' benefit. What would be the point? They seem to be setting a baseline of sorts. This was a public re-stating and clarification of their strategy. I wonder why.

RP apparently said that the coming months would be 'interesting'. Of course, what's interesting is in the eye of the beholder but they've got my attention.
