March 23, 2005 – DIGEPLAYER supplier APS/Wencor is finding that when one door closes another opens – in Canada at least.
Canadian low-cost operator CanJet Airlines has announced that it is to introduce the handheld IFE system aboard its fleet of Boeing 737s. The carrier thus effectively makes up for the loss of early adopter Jetsgo, which ceased operations at the beginning of this month.
CanJet provides low-fare scheduled services to 16 destinations in Canada and the United States. It plans to introduce digEplayer initially on selected Florida services and on flights operated in partnership with tour company Sunquest.
“We plan eventually to offer digEplayer on all long-haul flights, so that passengers flying Toronto-Calgary and Toronto-Vancouver will be able to enjoy this new inflight feature,” says CanJet marketing and sales director
Doug Newson. “As CanJet expands its fleet and route network and adds more long-haul flights, it’s incumbent on us to offer guests more enhancements and amenities. The introduction of digEplayer is an excellent beginning.”
