Lois...... afraid moving back to Oregon wont make any difference. An HOA is an HOA is an HOA! I have friends in California, Texas. DC and other locals. Many of these people get on on these boards for no other reason than boredom..... then it goes to their head. They get into their own ego wars and never speak with one voice. You probably have other members on the board who are privately rooting for you. In your case, it seems your board might smell like low tide as to the books. Why wouldnt any homeowner be able to see the books?! As a contractor, I can tell you they are nothing BUT a pain. Wish you well in your fight.
