Who protects the longterm shareholders?

What bothers me and some others about the stock market..
Per Dischino..
7. portfolio started in 1994 & runs until 2017 per Pat N., and RP backed that up.
Yes, I invested in Norris in 1994 based on eDig's technology and kept buying over the years. I spent about $13,000 hard cash and own less than 10K shares of Edig. If and when eDig goes up, I certainly won't benefit too much.
So who protects me against those that stole eDig's technology over the years? I basically get zip and those who've bought in now or recently will be rolling in the dough...
Whew..my vent for the day. Sorry, I just get disgusted sometimes. There should be more protection for individual shareholders who have been robbed by other companies over the years!!!
Go Edig..I want to recoup my losses!
