Good Morning to you all.

Thank you all for your participation and contributions within the AGORACOM Community. We would like to address the recent post removals and explain our thought process regarding this matter.

First of all LawyerLong, we have removed inflammatory remarks made by other members towards your activity in the past in a timely manner. We take a stringent approach to our rules and as such if a slight towards a poster, an individual, an idea, or just about anything misaligns itself with our six rules of use, a post is likely to be flagged as a violation and then removed.

Wolfy your post as well as sunpoop's post were removed based on similar assertions. Deletions based on violations are supposed to go through the violation process for the exact reason you point out.

As far as more accurately defining what will and will not be tolerated, we don't think there is a lot more that can be done. We could write a 20-page manual and there would still be discrepancies. This is especially true when you consider each HUB has its own level of tolerances. Kind of like the "community standard" rule. That is defined by Shareholders themselves.

So far, the system is obviously working with more than 10,000,000 pages per month being served and growing. It isn't perfect - but only due to the fact that no system can be perfect. We believe this is as close to perfect as it can get. Too many rules stifles discussion, too few takes it out of control.

As with any democracy, it requires both adherence and tolerance from all members in order to grow and thrive.

Thanks again for your input and your thoughts. We sincerely appreciate your opinions and your participation within the AGORACOM Community.

Kind Regards,

AGORACOM
