Well, a funny thing happened on my way back from the bar...

I found a pile of posts about a SHM...and Patent Trolls named eDigital...and lots of predictions of grand happenings..."soon."

First, the SHM meeting went off as planned and we have several reports on the mood and content. Many thanks for those who took the time to give the rest of us their opinions and thoughts about the ASM. For me, there were no big surprises other than Willy was a fly on the wall. I don't know how telling that is, but I would expect RP to be upbeat and positive. I have to assume Willy was also quite positive. I believe he has a much better chance to push the sales envelope than anyone previously employed by EDIG. Just re-read his resume if you have doubts about EDIG's potential to sell stuff. For the near term, I believe that is important.

Question: Has anyone ever spoken to RP when he was NOT upbeat and positive? In my conversations and emails and phone calls / VMs he has always been upbeat and positive. Maybe this time it is real and good things are about to happen prior to the Markman hearing in 2010. Great....I think. That's a long time for this crowd. Heck, next month is a long time for some.

I believe we are in good shape as 50M is not a lot of shares in the EDIG world of dilution. However, I also believe the time line for some of those 100's of millions of settlement dollars to hit EDIG's piggy bank may be a lot longer than "soon." I also hope I'm wrong, but I won't hold my breath waiting for a settlement next week or next month.

I wrote on this board about EDIG being called a Patent Troll and was duly trashed. Please note I stated "being called" a Patent Troll. That does not mean I believe EDIG IS a Patent Troll, just a point on how the oposition will frame the discussion.

BTW, did you know that Wencor is a sponsor of Shepard News as well as other IFE trade publications? Do you think they have a vested interest in doing as they are asked or as the information is presented to them by a PR guy? Trade rags are just that, rags. They do not require journalists nor do they care. The so-called writers have two jobs...1) fill the white space, and; 2) don't PO any of the advertisers. This I know well. Been there and done that in the CE world.

Don't sweat the small trade rag stuff. A potential EDIG customer will have been in the biz and knows the story has two sides.

Just my $0.02 and worth exactly what you paid for it...

John
