I talked to PN afterwords about Vivitar and he was not convinced Vivitar is going to be a meaning player. It might be good as a "pathfinder" but nothing else. He doesn't feel strongly there will even be a settlement with that company because No one is in charge, no one knows what they are doing, and no one is standing up to take responsiblity for running the company much less settling a lawsuit. His words were "it's a mess over there".

I'm not sure Avid Technology would be considered a major electronics manufacturer as RP said in the recent announcement. Combine that with the email several received from RP that the name of the first licensee would be seen in future PACER filings means it will likely be either Nikon, Samsung, Sanyo, Olympus, Casio or LG Electronics. All of whom qualify as major. If one of these electronic gorillas agreed to settle only 6 months after the lawsuit was filed, then the rest will likely follow.
