I`ve wondered if the batteries would be left in the embedded digEplayer.....this shows that they (MAS) are leaving them in place....if for some reason power supply is interrupted...players still functions.

That is how the digEplay handles it.....a hardware managed encryption scheme of the hard drive....placing the DivX encrypted files within.
They could be utilizing an off the shelf software driven encryption for the harddrive...? However..I don`t thing so.
They are copying Boyer if it`s not in fact the system....Boyer and his partner have patents in progress(well along) for this harddrive scheme....not for the harddrive decryptor...or file decryptor technology.. but for the hand held scheme....they`re not utilizing a laptop configuration like the PEA.
