Seems so to me unless they are targeting those early models that required an SD to function and/or their tieing it into internal flash or just the fact of them having an SD slot.

That's what I was getting at... most all their voice recorders don't need a SD slot to record audio they carry onboard flash memory; same with camcorders, but alot if not most nowa days have sd slots and imvho not many, if any, will not 'not' record if there's not a card inserted.
