The market was rallying long before EDIG took part in it. EDIG got swept up near the end, at the time when the bubble bursting had not yet been recognized BECAUSE most every market retraction was seen as a buying opportunity....AND IT WAS up until 2000. We had the longest bull market in history showing no signs of slowing.

It was only an EDIG phenomenon in the minds of some.

There were plenty of investors whose strategy was purely the momentum play, not unlike others who participated in IPOs priced at, for example, 12 and gapped open to 20, ran to 30, and then slowly moved back down.

The market was ripe for speculators who were doing quite well with that strategy at that point in time. If they lost money coming in late to EDIG, that was a risk they were willing to take.

EDIG did not exist all alone, nor was it the market leader in the tech boom. Venture capitalist were financing college students with merely an idea, looking for the next Bill Gates/Microsoft. Yes it was a different time, when throwing money at anything made sense because money was plentiful.

EDIG's story has some reality to it. There was INTEL, Lucent, etc, the patents and a huge growth market which proved to be as big as anyone could imagine.

EDIG rose on forward looking investors coming into play.

The rest is history...so to think a poster single handedly turned the market is nothing more than a bitter fantasy for some.

The fact that many posters were seeing the opportunity in kind is what help drive the market north, but not one single investor, by any means.
