Zune Changes its Tune

Good news for Zune subscribers.

In the ongoing attempt to dethrone Apple's iTunes as the dominant online music service, Microsoft's Zune is getting aggressive with it's new download subscription plan.

The Zune Pass will now allow users to keep 10 tracks per month for no extra charge. Zune subscribers will be able to keep the songs in their permanent collection. The content can be stored on up to three PCs and up to three seperate Zune devices. The Zune Pass already allows users access to millions of tracks for the monthly fee of $14.99.

The company signed DRM deals with the four big labels; EMI Music, Sony BMG Music Entertainment, Universal Music Group and Warner Music Group as well as a sprinkling of indepenent labels.

Tracks can be stored and recorded to CDs even if the Zune subscrption elapses.
