April 21, 2005 – AFTER a muted few months, Rockwell Collins is showing that it still has a place among the Big Three IFE system manufacturers.

It was announced this week that Rockwell Collins Aviation Services has been contracted to provide onboard maintenance for the eTES systems installed on Air New Zealand’s present fleet of Boeing 747s and 777s, with an option on a further 40 777s that the airline may acquire.

“We will have state-of-the-art IFE installed in all cabin classes of our 747 and 777 fleets as part of an exciting revamp of our long-haul product, which includes unique new seating, as well as food and beverage selections,” says ANZ international general manager Ed Sims. “It’s important that we have full support for this technology and we are confident that CAS will provide reliable and efficient service.
