Interesting article. Though rambling at times, it paints the picture clearly that EDIG fits the description of a "Little Guy" whose tech is stolen by theives to a T...

Google and Wikipedia are full of historical facts that EDIG is an essential proginator of the notion of FALSH utilization in digital data transmission, and that is why the big ones like Apple and Samsung have filed for their own patents, often listing EDIG as Prior Art to get by the "Theiving element" of anticipated litigation...

Based on the facts the we know, EDIG is the quintessential "Little Guy" who ended up getting the short end of the stick in a multi-billion dollar market...

DM knows full well the Jury value of of playing the "Little Guy" being screwed by the Big Boys Card, and you can bet he uses it in his settlement negotiations.

The Ace in the Hole for DM is found in this statement in article you posted;...

"Jurors also tend to be skeptical of reverse engineering and "design-arounds," often finding nefarious intent in such actions."

The FACTS in EDIG case are just too compelling. There is no way Samsung, Apple, Panasonic, Sony, Hp, and etc, can get over the "Little Guy" favoritism by claiming they did not "steal" from EDIG. The connecting "Dots" are just too obvious and the defendants know it...

All this is significant only in the context of what DM shall do in this case. My take is that DM shall settle as many of the cases prior to thee "Markman Ruling" as possible to build a war chest before going after the Heavy Weights. After they get a positive "Markman Ruling" they will lower the boom on the Big ones...

So, I beleive the Chairman and RP that we should expect a rain fall of "Settlements" between now and the Markman Hearing in 2010. Only that information is not going to be publicized as a matter of strategy set forth by DM.

Any way you look at it, EDIG is going to be a different company than what we have known for the past 10 years, and that is good for the shareholders...
