Good morning...
Ahh MAINE...Brings back bitter-seat memories...
I have some good memories of sailing Penobscot Bay and environs with one of my College friends who was a 6 generation Maine sea going family...
Joe loved the sea. He graduated from Annapolis and was a Navy Seal. I met him in Marin County CA, after he graduated from Stanford Law School and was working as a deputy County Counsel.
I ran his campagin for State Assembly and we became close friend. He went back to Penobscot Bay and decided to run an Inn in that area...
Eventually, Joe came back to California. But, California got too crowded for Joe and he retired on 10 Acres in Olympic Peninsula In Kingston, Washinton, Still close to the Sea he loved...
The last time I saw joe was in 2003 when at his request I went to Kingston to see the surprise he talked aabout. He had bought a sail boat that used to belong to President Roosevelt and they had just made it sea worth agan. We sailed up the Prince Albert Island accross from Ketchkan Alaska.
Jor had refurbished the Boat, deed it to a Club organized to teach American Indian kids sailing, and the trip to Ketickikan was their first sea going trip...
Soon thereafter Joe died of Lou Gehrig disease...
That is a picture of how life pans out, and I hope it will help all not to worry about EDIG PPS that much...
