It takes more than patience and discipline to become a good musician. Don't forget aptitude. I could have said "talent" but that might be too pretentious for you. :>) That characteristic is just an accident of birth.

Environment does play an important role in one's choice to become a musician but you could have hung around with Mozart and Beethoven all your life and never become an accomplished musician if you ain't got the genes. The reverse is also true. I'm sure there are people who have enormous talent but, for one reason or another, never developed it.

About forming a band from the board....forget it. :>):>):>)
