So... I had been keeping up on posts yesterday until almost 4:30 PM - when I closed my browser to work on other tasks for awhile. When I came back a few hours later, I saw that the very next unread post for me was: 10Q Out!! It figures. So I had a lot of catching up to do last night and had little time today to do much aside from occasionally checking the share price. Although I don’t have anything very new to add to the discussion tonight, it seems fairly quiet and I would share a few thoughts...

1. I’m not surprised to see settlement amounts right around the LG settlement. In fact, I’m rather pleased that the amounts were at least a little higher... which moves us in the right direction. jefother has been saying consistently that we can’t tell anything by the amounts themselves and I completely agree with him. The factors will vary from company to company and the concept of a discount is meaningless in that it can’t be measured by any information that we have.

2. Fred isn’t making stuff up when he states (in effect) that the company now has some capital to move forward with significant eVU partnerships and business plans. The dollars to float the manufacture of a decent-sized order now appear to be available. They’ve always had to work out some special arrangement or financing for this before. Now it’s much easier and they can afford to sign contracts that grant terms. That’s a very good thing and surely necessary in the current economy.

3. The share price is holding up well enough for now all things considered. I realize it will tend to drift lower without further news and that we will probably have to wait longer before word gets out to a larger audience about what is going on here. But again, things appear to be moving in the right direction - and the time until our ship arrives continues to shrink.

This is a process that many of us have been watching for ten years or so, but it is far from over and is indeed finally beginning to bear some fruit - even if it is the low-hanging kind. Turning the corner to profitability though is nothing to sneeze at.

I continue to expect a decision on the digEcor hearing any day now. I can’t imagine it taking much longer than another couple weeks at the most but have no real basis for that opinion. I do think that a mostly positive result will have a liberating affect on the share price - maybe not an immediate rise, but allow it to move up a bit easier than before. And of course we’re all aware that a Samsung settlement or more filings could occur at anytime - either of which would be viewed as very favorable.

As the coming year unfolds, I doubt that we’ll see a very long period of time (like several months as we’ve had in the past) without news of any kind. Those ‘quiet’ times I think are surely behind us now and I don’t think the share price will stagnate as a result. We’re in for a very interesting year.
