I checked the net last nite for political contributions to Pat Leahy and Lamar Smith. I wanted to see how much the high tech companies contributed to their campaigns. I couldn't find any detailed info, only generalizations. I can understand Leahy's stake in this in pure political and philosophical terms. He's an advocate of Socialism. In his eyes, IP is evil because it promotes entrepreneurship, but the flip side is that the bill would strengthen large established companies. He's always raggin' on big business, too. Seems like a conflict to me. Go figure.
Smith is a Republican. Of course you can't paint all R's the same color. Case in point...I give you Spectre, Collins and Snowe. Yes the name of the Senator from Penn. was purposely misspelled....appropriately, I might add :>)
One thing is certain, the Pharms better start ponying up mucho cash. If they lose, so will we. Everyone go to the druggist and refill your Rx's. :>)
